Patty has had a love for swimming since she
was a little girl. Growing up in
Edmonds
, she has always been aware of the need to be able to be safe in
the water. She has enjoyed swimming and finds it a great form
of relaxation for herself. Through her involvement on the
swim team board, as an official and as a coach, she has learned the
various aspects of swimming which allows her to have a broader
picture of what it takes to success.
Patty has coached athletes that range in skill from lessons to
Zones level athletes. She believes that every athlete should
be given the tools and the opportunity to reach their goals in and
out of the water. The 2009-2010 year is her ninth with our
team. Patty holds an ASCA 2 certification and has completed
her education portion for level 3 & 4 requirements. She
is continuing towards completing her level 3 & level 4 athlete
and time served achievement requirements.
Kristi is
starting her third year with Tigersharks. She is a level 2 ASCA coach working on
her level 3 certification. Kristi swam
during high school and wanted to help instill a love of the sport
in her children and others. She loves working with kids and shares
her passion in a positive fashion with all athletes and
families. She is also entering her
third year coaching a middle school program in the area. She currently coaches our Blue group athlets
and oversees our lesson program.

Josh began his competitive swimming in 1991
with the Lake Stevens Swim Club. During high school, he swam for
the Everett Park Sharks with Chris Erickson as his coach. While
with Everett, Josh learned to fine tune his strokes, swim sprints,
compete and evaluate his strokes. Josh attended Lake Stevens High
School, where he focused on breaststroke and long distance
freestyle events until he graduated in 1999. While swimming for
Lake Stevens, Josh became a three-time letterman and part of a
three-year undefeated streak in dual meets. They were also team
district champs three years in a row! During high school, in 1997,
Josh got his first coaching experience as a volunteer assistant
coach for the Lake Stevens Middle school teams.
Josh attended Central Washington University,
earning a BS in Information Technology with minors in Human
Resources, Personal Computer Applications and Coaching. As a
Wildcat, he swam and was a three-year letterman for the Central
Washington University swim team from 1999-2002. Due to injury, he
stepped back from swimming for a couple years and, finally, swam
for Central Washington Swim Club and Ellensburg Area Swim Club from
2004-2006. During his time at Central Washington University, Josh
also competed on the water polo team from 2004-2006. During the
summers, Josh would coach the Everett Park Sharks and in the summer
of 2000, he swam for Snohomish Valley Swim Club (SVSC).
After college, Josh coached the Mountlake
Terrace Marlins from 2006 to 2007. Josh is joining us after three
years with Storm Aquatics. He is very excited to join us and share
his love of our sport with all of our athletes. Josh is
currently an ASCA level 2 coach, working towards his level 3
requirements. You will see Josh working on deck primarily
with our Yellow group, but I am sure you will see him working with
the other athletes as well. In his spare time he enjoys
swimming, cooking, traveling, fishing; playing: football, baseball,
softball, golf, ultimate frisbee, water polo, and tennis; as well
as watching football, baseball and movies with his wife,
Rachel.
Cyndi began to swim at the age of 5 in a lake near
Minneapolis and spent the next 13 years in either the pool, a lake,
or a river as a competitive and synchronized swimmer. She began to
compete at the age of 7 as a back and breaststroker for the Prior
Lake AAU swim team with her dad taking her from top to bottom all
over the state of Minnesota. By Junior High, Cyndi was her AAU
team's distance swimmer and she also began synchro swimming.
In High School, Cyndi was fortunate enough to be selected to begin
training competitively for the Goodwill Games in the 200, 500, and
1500 free events and as a solo, duet, and 4 person team synchro
events. For personal reasons, she did not make it to those Games.
She has however stayed involved in all forms of swimming and health
and fitness activities since then. From the fall of 2004 until the
fall of 2008, she taught private and group swim lessons to all ages
at the Mukilteo YMCA. Additionally.Cyndi worked with two Master
Swim Groups mostly working with Triathletes, and have taught all
levels of Water Fitness. She is also a huge advocate of cross
training for all athletes, meaning a swimmer would do well to
enhance their workouts and skills by being active in a dry-land
anaerobic and aerobic activity.
Cyndi started coaching with us in the Summer of 2010 and
we are very excited to have her coach our White Group
athletes! She is working on updating her ASCA
ceritifications.
The
2009-2010 season will be Lee’s first year with Tigersharks
and we are very excited to have him!
Lee was a member of the National Dive team and loves our
sport. His daughter has been swimming
with us for the past year. Lee will be
coaching our Competitive Readiness Group. Lee is working on his Level 1 ASCA
certification
